Gary Crawford is a strong leader at City Hall representing the interests of his constituents. Gary supports improvements in the Ward’s communities and in the City. His ability to form consensus around issues has gained him the respect of his peers and admiration among all residents and stakeholders. Gary understands and appreciates the dynamics of this community. His continued strong vision and dedication will ensure that the Ward has an important place at City Hall.
Public service is as much about making a difference in the community as it is about partnering with others to create a livable City. Gary’s devotion to public service is evident through his service as Toronto’s Budget Chief for this past term, as a City Councillor over the past eight years, and as School Board Trustee prior to that. Throughout his previous terms as Councillor, Gary has been a vocal advocate for his constituents, successfully resolved over 14,000 individual constituency concerns since taking office.
As Chair of City Council’s Budget Committee, and a member of the Mayor’s Executive Committee, Gary’s responsibilities place him in a unique position to successfully influence change. An accomplished artist and musician, Gary is a passionate advocate for the arts and cultural sectors. Gary holds an honours Bachelor of Fine Arts from York University and comes from a business background, having worked in both management and consultant positions for the hospitality industry.
